A Moment For Two

The excitement on your big day is real. From trying to fall asleep the night before to finally celebrating together at the end of the night, your wedding day is a whirlwind of joy, love, and celebration. But amidst the excitement, it is so essential that you are taking some moments with just yourselves. Here are a few tips to ensure that your are making sure to savour every moment alone:

  1. Embrace the ‘First Look’

    Consider a small and private first look at each other before the ceremony. This is an intimate moment that allows you both to see each other and share your emotions away from the crowd, creating a cherished memory before saying ‘I Do’.

  2. Plan a Small Moment Together

    Between the ceremony and reception, once photos & catching up with your bridal party has been done, try have a little time for yourselves before going in to your reception. This can be from enjoying your first sunset as a married couple OR just a quick debrief to one another in an intimate room away from guests

  3. Enjoy 5 Minutes

    Take 5 minutes sometime through the reception - this can be so that you both can either quickly have some food together or just escape away to check in on each other. This helps to soak up all the emotions you both might be having.

  4. Capture the Moments

    While guests are enjoying some appetizers at the ceremony venue, get your photographer (&videographer if you have one) and ask them to capture a quick intimate moment of the both of you having a first look at your reception decor so you are able to see first hand what all your hard work and creativity came to for your day

  5. Keep Communication Open

    Throughout the day, make sure to check in on one another. Even if this is through a parent, your bridal party or even your photographer - a simple ‘I LOVE YOU’ can make a world of difference amid all the busyness of the day. Make it a point to experience things together

  6. One Last Dance

    Once all your guests have cleared out (maybe awaiting to send you off), think about having one last dance together at the end of the night. Just a small moment with you both together so that you are able to reflect & share your stories of the day, show your feelings & emotions, and soaking in those last moments of your wedding

Remember, the day is about you and celebrating your love for each other. So prioritising yourselves and what you would like to do is the key to having an enjoyable day. By creating these small moments for yourselves to stop and soak in all the love and support, it will not only make it that much more enjoyable but also will strengthen the foundations of your marriage as this is only the beginning of your story.
